Many travel policies only provide coverage for members who meet their pre-existing condition requirements.
What is a Pre-Existing Condition?
Pre Existing is any medical or physical conditional symptoms illness or disease for which treatment was received or for which an ordinarily prudent person would have sought treatment in the ninety days immediately prior to the insured persons departure date, unless such condition was stable and controlled.
It is important to understand what constitutes a pre-existing condition before booking your trip. We advise calling your corresponding travel carrier before your trip to ensure your meet eligibility requirements. You can find contact information for your Travel Carrier on your electronic benefits card. You can find your electronic benefits card by selecting “Benefits Card” in the menu selection of your member app / portal.

To navigate to your member booklet:
- Log into you simply benefits portal via website ( unavailable via mobile )
- Select “resources” in the side menu
- Select “ Employee Booklet” from the options
Once in your booklet
- Review the table of contents to find the page number your OOC/OPP benefit information is stated.
- Scroll down to said page number.
- Review the information in relation to your OOP/OOC coverage, specifically related to Pre-existing conditions
